Earlier this week I choose The Rewatchable episode on Wall Street to be my background distraction while I was exercising at home (once again…thank you Boris). Bill and Brian went through the movie and all the other finance-related movie stars that came after: they are all men.
I do not want to talk politics here but in the total chaos that 2020 brought, a positive aspect was the re-invigorated strength of social justice movements like Black Lives Matter. In Finance, this is the G of ESG. All minorities need equal opportunities but also those that are not a minority: women. It was important for me before, it is importanter now that I have a daughter. I really really wish she will choose a career far from finance…but if she does, it is great that I can point to her success stories where she can relate to.
Cathie Wood was the winner of 2020. I do not necessary agree with all her opinions and I feel that everything ARK-related is super-duper inflated right now, but this does not change the fact that she won big and I am so happy for that. The only reason why you might not know her name yet and there will not be 10 movies about her in 2021 is because again…she is a woman.
