The most read post on this blog in 2020 has been this: Scott Galloway is a terrible stock picker.
It is funny to me because this is a topic at most tangent with what I usually write about. I love Scott and what is funnier is that 99% of the readers got there because they hate him and clearly got deceived by the title. While if you Google ‘Mintos’ you will find thousands of links and my blog would be on page 57, there is (now clearly to me) a big mob out there that despise the Prof and no one that can satisfy their thirst.
Galloway just released his predictions for 2021. I do not trade based on what he says and you should not neither (nor pick some old stuff he said and create an ‘inverse Scott Galloway index’ unless you want to have more weird guys follow you on Twitter). This is pure food for thoughts: listen, apply your own logic and you will see that you will be smarter, whatever you agree or disagree with him.
As Annie Duke teaches us, it is crucial to not fall into resulting; Scott starts each of this yearly video with an examination of the previous year predictions: no one cares if he got it right or wrong, you want to understand the why and how he got there. Lots of people in the stock market get it right for the wrong reasons, if your judgment is based only on that…good luck to you.
